Elderly Man Hit by Train in Hyderabad, Dragged for Almost 5 kms; Body Found Hanging in Engine

The man's body was later found hanging on the lower part of the train's engine.

Hyderabad: An elderly man was hit by a train and dragged for almost 5 kilometres in Telangana’s Medchal District. The man was hit while trying to cross railway track when the train was moving on Bibinagar-Ghatkesar track. The man's body was later found hanging on the lower part of the train's engine.

The victim was aged about 65-70 years, an Investigation Official of the GRP, who visited the scene, said, adding he was hit by an empty rake while he was "trespassing" railway track and died on the spot.

Later, locals noticed that the dead body of a man was hanging on the train, following which the locals immediately informed the railway police about the incident. A case was registered by the railway police at RPS Secunderabad. Meanwhile, the elderly man's body was recovered from the train and taken for post-mortem.
