Largest Giorgio Morandi Exhibition of the Century Opens in Shanghai with 120 Works Debuting in China

The largest exhibition of works by Giorgio Morandi this century opened at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in Shanghai on June 17. Featuring more than 140 original artworks and over 200 exhibits, the exhibition includes more than 120 works being shown in China for the first time.

“This is the largest-scale major exhibition of Morandi’s work of the century, featuring 140 original pieces. Particularly noteworthy is that 120 of the exhibits are being shown in China for the first time, highlighting the exhibition’s exceptional significance. For example, this work is a self-portrait by Morandi. Only seven self-portraits by the artist are known to exist worldwide, and this exhibition has brought one of them to Shanghai.”
